how to find us

Driving directions to the hotel

From the South including Glasgow International Airport
Follow the signs for the M8 to Glasgow city centre. Leave the motorway at J25 and follow the signs to the Clyde Tunnel. Go through the tunnel and stay on this road (A739) northbound following the signs for Aberfoyle. At Bearsden follow the signs for the A81 to Aberfoyle. Stay on this road through Strathblane after which you will see the turnoff for Killearn. Once in Killearn, go past the Spar Shop on you right and at the top of the hill turn left and the hotel is facing you.

From the Northeast
From Stirling follow the A811 westbound towards Erskine Bridge & Loch Lomond. After Buchlyvie take the turnoff for the A875 to Balfron. Stay on this road through Balfron and Killearn is the next village on. Once in Killearn, go past the church and the hotel is facing you.

From the Northwest
From the A82 go past Loch Lomond and take the turn for Balloch. From Balloch follow the signs onto the A811 towards Drymen. Before you get to Drymen there is a T junction which has a right hand turn signposted for Glasgow (A809). Take this road for approx 2 miles until you see a left turn for Killearn (B834). Once in the village turn right at the T junction past the church and the hotel is facing you.

From Prestwick Airport
Take to A77/M77 north towards Glasgow. At the end of the M77, join the M8 westbound towards Glasgow International Airport and Greenock. Leave the M8 at J25 and follow the signs to the Clyde Tunnel. Go through the tunnel and stay on this road (A739) northbound following the signs for Aberfoyle. At Bearsden follow the signs for the A81 to Aberfoyle. Stay on this road through Strathblane after which you will see the turnoff for Killearn. Once in Killearn, go past the Spar Shop on you right and at the top of the hill turn left and the hotel is facing you.

Public Transport
Public transport to Killearn is provided by First Bus. There is a regular service to and from Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus Station, Stirling Bus Station and Balloch with limited other connections. The no.10 bus leaves Buchanan bus station in the centre of Glasgow and passes in front of the hotel. If you let the driver know that you would like to get off at the Black Bull hotel, he will remember to stop for you.. The bus leaves from stance 34 at Buchanan Bus station (approx every hour) and the journey takes 45-50 minutes.

All journeys to and from Stirling require a change of bus at Balfron. Through tickets may be purchased.

All buses to Glasgow call at Milngavie Railway Station arriving approximately 24 minutes after leaving Killearn. Trains from Milngavie travel to Glasgow Queen Street or Central Stations at 30 minute intervals throughout the day with onward connections to the UK mainline rail network. Departure times are 8 minutes to and 22 minutes past the hour with some additional trains at peak periods.

It is possible to get a taxi from Glasgow and Loch Lomond to the hotel. The journey will take 35 minutes from Glasgow and 30 minutes from Loch Lomond.
