Breakfast
The Stewarts are very aware of the importance of a good healthy breakfast and an extensive breakfast menu is available seven days a week. Choose from a selection of juices, cereals, yoghurts and fresh and dried fruits to start followed by a dazzling selection of eggs, meat and fish (plus vegetarian options) all cooked freshly to order just as you like them. Decent sized cafétières and teapots are brought to the table with toast, good unwrapped butter and preserves.
Lunch and Dinner
From mid-day, everyday, the Black Bull offers a wide selection of meals and snacks to suit every palate. From traditional Scottish fare to sophisticated continental cuisine, we always endeavour to source our ingredients locally, using small suppliers and changing our menus daily in order to make the best of the freshest seasonal produce available (current menus can be emailed on request).
We serve food everyday in the Bull Bar and Bistro (last orders 9.30pm) and items from both menus are available for room service if required. We also serve a range of drinks and snacks including regular, fruit and herbal teas, filter, espresso and cappuccino coffees, piping hot chocolate, cool fruit smoothies, home made cakes, pastries and ice creams.
Our Conservatory Restaurant is generally open at the weekends for dinner and is also available for private hire. It is an elegant and beautiful location for weddings, Christenings and birthdays and is particularly popular in the summer months as direct access into our spacious gardens is always enjoyed by young and old.
Afternoon Tea
Tea at the Black Bull Hotel is an institution in itself and is served in the Conservatory during the summer months and in front of a log fire in the Lounge Bar in the winter. A choice of teas, finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones, jam and whipped cream plus a range of cakes and pastries combine to make for an unforgettable afternoon. Served every day from 2.00pm to 5.30pm.
Cocktails and Liqueurs
This cosy lounge is adjacent to the Conservatory and diners can enjoy a pre-dinner drink or after dinner coffee and liqueurs seated in comfortable, squashy sofas and chairs. In the winter, a roaring log fire adds to the atmosphere and in the warmer summer months, double doors open into the Conservatory with marvellous views out into the gardens.
