Golf
Loch Lomond and surrounding area offers great golf with fabulous scenery.
The cost of a round of golf can vary from under £5.00 to over
£50.00 depending on where and when you play. It is always best
to contact a club to confirm play times etc.
For golf, the area is somewhat undiscovered but boasts some quite
remarkable courses, including Milngavie, Clober, Hilton Park, Buchanan
Castle, Strathendrick – and the recently developed, sensational
Dougalston course.
Esporta Dougalston Golf Course is situated in the leafy Glasgow
suburb of Milngavie, just ten minutes drive from Scotland's City
of Culture.
The course has recently undergone significant development under
the Esporta banner. This included the introduction of two completely
new holes and significant drainage improvements, and the new course
lay-out was officially opened to rave reviews. Fantastic facilities
include an 18-hole championship standard golf course, mid to short
iron practice area, very welcoming clubhouse with changing rooms,
bar and function suite. There is also the chance to take advantage
of the health and fitness club, including fully equipped fitness
arena, swimming pool, spa's, sauna and steam room.
Country and field sports
In the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, salmon &
trout fishing is available on most of the rivers and lochs. Pike
fishing is also available on Loch Venacher and one or two other
lochs in the area.
From deer stalking in Scotland, to grouse shooting, The Black Bull
is the ideal venue for field sports.
Shooting - from Grouse to Partridge. White hare to Rabbits. Driven
pheasant. Pigeon shooting. Driven duck. Ptarmigan goose & duck
flighting - or a mixture! And stalking - choose from Red Stag, Roebuck,

365 days a year. And literally tens of thousands of acres of excellent

a truly multi-countrysport activity destination!
Walking and Cycling
Loch Lomond and Trossachs truly is a walkers paradise. So many walks
to choose from, ranging from light strolls to more strenuous climbs,
including the famous Ben Lomond and the Cobbler, both close at hand
- all against a backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery, rolling
countryside, lochs and glens - and spectacular waterfalls.
For hillwalking around Killearn - the hills around Killearn are
nowhere near to reaching the Corbett and Munro status of the Highlands
and Islands but the lowland features here contain a beauty of their
own. This picturesque region offers many opportunities for single
day trips as most of the walks are only a few miles in distance.
The area is also famed for its mountain scenery which provides
unsurpassed opportunities for cyclists, most especially the fittest
of mountain bikers and racers, since the mountains of nearby Breadalbane
in particular are amongst the highest in Scotland. The cycle track
circumnavigating Loch Katrine offers glorious scenic beauty while
the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park has Britain's largest network of
off-road cycle tracks. The relatively safe, quiet roads off the
main routes also offer more leisurely family cycling.
